While playing a variety of games, his passion was always DotA and would play in a internet cafe. Scant has played DotA and Dota 2 since 2004 being a player and having a stint as a team manager for tankh^ [1]. When his internet was installed at his home around the age of 16-17, he continued to pursue with DotA [2]. While being noted as one of the best South African Dota players during his time with Bravado Gaming he later turned to writing articles under numerous organisations such as,, datdota and ESPN. Dota 2[edit]

As a player[edit]

While playing under Bravado Gaming in 2012, they are were considered the best team in South Africa, while scant one of the key members playing a support during his tenure at the club. However breaking into the international scene found it difficult for scant, as he had to play on Europe West receiving a 150-250 ping to further improve as a player. After playing, he made a personal decision to further continue his career within the Dota 2 scene, he decided to turn to writing and drop his career as a professional player. He thought that with the experience he had after graduating a degree in philosphy, and with a portfolio of writing and teaching, he felt that it would be a good choice.

Transition to Writing and Casting[edit]

While continuing to watch Dota 2, he later wrote articles about heroes, teams and interviews on his blogspot. His blogsport later became noticed and a man named "Mali", saw his blogspot and emailed him to work for as a writer. Scant later joined the organisation writing numerous articles about patches affecting the competitive scene, event articles relating the top tournaments and weekly top 5 articles. After a short time, he later was promoted to editor of the website. He later joined datdota, 1337mag, spylce and ESPN, providing detailed insight about the Dota 2 competitive scene and analysis of patch updates. While writing, scant also started caster to get into the Dota 2 scene by asking Durka for a trial as a co-caster under JoinDOTA and was later successful, appearing in numerous tournaments and later The Shanghai Major 2016.

Scant's written articles can be found "here".
