Evil Geniuses is one of the oldest North American-sponsored multigaming clans with a long history in gaming. The team was established in 1999 and has developed from being a clan, into a "new media agency specializing in contracting professional gamers, creating online and offline video game broadcasts, and developing engaging marketing initiatives aimed at attracting and influencing gamers worldwide." They are well known for their StarCraft II, League of Legends, and Dota 2 teams.
On May 9th, 2014, they entered the Smash scene by signing well-known Falco player Dr. PP (PPMD). Though Dr. PP was their first Smash signing, it was by no means their first step into fighting games. Since 2010, they had built a powerhouse fighting game division composed of Evolution and Premier Tournament champions (particularly in Street Fighter IV and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3), including Justin "Marvelous" Wong, Ricky Ortiz, Eduardo Perez-Frangie (PR Balrog), Kenneth Bradley (K-Brad) and Yusuke Momochi.
