Daniel "KoreanDJ" Jung was a professional Melee player formerly playing for Team Liquid.

Biography[edit]

Hailing from Massachusetts, KoreanDJ was famous for his meteoric rise from average player to one of the top players of the original MLG era in roughly a years time. He was also famous for consistently money matching top players in order to gain experience against them. KoreanDJ was one of the only players to be able to defeat Ken, who at the time was the undisputed best in North America, and perhaps the entire world. Not only did he defeat Ken, he is one of the only known players who had a positive winning record over Ken at the time. KoreanDJ placed 2nd behind PC Chris at MLG Las Vegas 2006. After Ken's retirement and Melee was dropped from the MLG Circuit, KoreanDJ was considered one of the three best players in the world, frequently competing with PC Chris and Mew2King.

After Revival of Melee he took a break from Melee, with a 17th place finish at Apex 2012 his only notable tournament between 2009 and 2014. After a notable appearance in The Smash Brothers, where he got an episode dedicated to him, KoreanDJ returned to the scene at Apex 2014, finishing 17th. 2 months later, he was picked up by Team Liquid along with Ken, making the two the first Melee players picked up by a major eSports organization.

On September 28, 2015, KoreanDJ decided to retire again from competitive play due to injuries, and left Team Liquid.[1]
