Major League Gaming

From Liquipedia Smash Wiki

Major League Gaming, often referred to as MLG, is an American professional gaming league founded in 2002. MLG has historically been associated with console shooters such as the Halo and Call of Duty series, but it has recently added PC games such as Dota 2, Starcraft II, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

MLG has a history with the Smash Bros games. MLG had Melee on their Pro Circuit from 2004 to 2006, and sponsored grassroots tournaments for their Smash Series in 2007. With the release of Brawl, MLG added Brawl to their 2010 circuit, but Brawl only lasted one year.

MLG also owned Smashboards from 2008 to 2012.

Four years later, Melee would come back to MLG for MLG Anaheim 2014. The next year both Melee and Smash 4 appeared at MLG World Finals 2015.
