The Apex Legends Global Series 2021-22 is the second official tournament circuit by EA. The circuit was announced on July 22nd, 2021 with a blog post. [1]
Format[edit]
- There are 5 tiers of tournaments, from low to high are Challenger Circuit, Qualifiers, Pro League, Playoff (LAN), and Championship (LAN)
- There are 5 regions for all online tournaments:
- Only Challenger Circuits and Preseason Qualifiers are opened for signing up.
Qualifiers[edit]
Preseason Qualifiers[edit]
- The four online Preseason Qualifier tournaments will take place on September 11-13, September 25-27, October 2-4, and October 9-11, 2021
- The winning team from each region in each Preseason Qualifier will automatically qualify for Split 1 of the Pro League
- Following all four Preseason Qualifier tournaments, the top 16 teams in each region by cumulative points earned throughout the qualifiers will also qualify for Split 1 of the Pro League
Split 2 Pro League Qualifier[edit]
- The ALGS Split 2 Pro League Qualifier will take place in January 2022, prior to the Split 1 Playoffs. This online tournament pits the bottom eight teams from each region’s Pro League Split 1 Regular Season against top 22 teams in each region’s Split 1 Challenger Circuit to determine the 8 teams who will advance to the Pro League in Split 2.
Last Chance Qualifier #1[edit]
- This online tournament pits the bottom eight teams from each region’s Pro League Split 2 Regular Season against top 22 teams in each region’s Split 2 Challenger Circuit
- The advanced team amount depend on how many slots remain in Last Chance Qualifier #2.
Last Chance Qualifier #2[edit]
- This online tournament will have total 40 teams playing Double Elimination Format.
- All teams from Pro League Split 2 which don't qualify to Championship and also not relegate to the Last Chance Qualifier #1
- Remaining slots will all give to teams from Last Chance Qualifier #1
- Top 2 teams of each region will advance to Championship
Challenger Circuit[edit]
Split 1[edit]
- Each Challenger Circuit split will feature four open registration weekend tournaments in all regions
- Following the four Challenger Circuit tournaments in Split 1, top 22 teams by ALGS points earned throughout the Split in each region will qualify for the Split 2 Pro League Qualifier
Split 2[edit]
- Same format with Split 1, top 22 teams by ALGS points earned throughout the Split in each region will qualify for the Last Chance Qualifier #1.
Pro League[edit]
Split 1[edit]
- All 5 regions of the Pro League will be comprised of 40 teams:
- 20 directly invited teams
- 20 teams from the Preseason Qualifiers
- The 40 teams in each region will be seeded into four groups of ten teams each using Year 1 ALGS and Preseason Qualifier performance
- The Pro League Regular Season will consist of five weeks of online competition in which teams will compete in a double round-robin format (each group plays each other group twice)
- In total, each team will play 36 games in the Regular Season across six series of six games each
- On the line for teams during the Regular Season is playoff qualification and a $500,000 USD prize pool
- At the end of the Split 1 Regular Season, the bottom eight teams in each region will be relegated to the Split 2 Pro League Qualifier, where they will battle against Split 1 Challenger Circuit top 22 teams for a spot in the Split 2 Pro League
Split 2[edit]
- Split 2 will include another run of Pro League Regular Season, all formats are same as Split 1
- At the end of the Split 2 Regular Season, the bottom eight teams in each region will be relegated to Last Chance Qualifier #1, where they will battle against Split 2 Challenger Circuit top 22 teams for Last Chance Qualifier #2
- All other teams which don't qualify to Championship will directly advance to Last Chance Qualifier #2

- Regional online tournaments.
- Top 20 teams of each region advance to the regional playoffs.
- Teams will earn playoff points depend on their placement.
Split 2[edit]
- Top 10 teams of NA/EMEA/APAC-N and top 5 teams of SA/APAC-S will be qualified for the Split 2 playoff.
- The playoff will be using Group Stage and Double Elimination Format, and held as LAN event.
Championship[edit]
- The ALGS Championship will take place between July 7th-10th 2022 and feature the 40 best Apex Legends teams in the world, competing in-person for $2,000,000 USD and the title of Year 2 - ALGS Champions.
- The top 30 teams of total playoff point will directly qualify for the Championship.
- 10 teams from Last Chance Qualifier #2
