About Tier[edit]

The tiers are categorized as follows:

Name	Typical prize pool	Description
S-Tier		Tournaments with only the world's top teams. Finals of S-Tier tournaments are international LAN-events. They require an extensive qualifier system to make sure only the top teams can take part. EA official major or premier tournaments will also be classified as S-Tier.
A-Tier	$25k+	Tournaments feature a large prize pool and a good number of top-tier teams.
B-Tier	$2.5k-$30k	Tournaments feature smaller LAN events and larger online events with some top tier teams.
C-Tier	$500-$3k	Tournaments offer a smaller prize pool and less prestige than B-Tier Tournaments but still draw a high level of competition.
D-Tier	$1k-	The lowest ranked events, almost always played online with little to no top teams participating.
Show Matches		Tournaments consist of a known mix between influencers and pro players.
Misc		Tournaments do not fit in under the other categories. Such as tournaments with a "fun" format or tournaments which have rank or role restriction which give the events a low level of competition.

While the prize pool is an important factor for categorizing tournaments, it does not equal a specific tier. Higher tier tournaments require a higher level of competition, which, if not met, can cause a tournament to be tiered lower. For example, a hypothetical $50k tournament with no affiliation to high level teams participating is not A-Tier, but B-Tier at most. All tiers are up to Admin discretion. Also, as competitive Apex was immature in early period, the tier determination for early tournaments will be more easing.
