"Mthja" started as a semi-professional player joining forces with Silent, a clan participating in the RPL and CRL Leagues hosted by individuals from the community.

In late 2016, this changed and Mthja joined one of the first professional organisations within Clash Royale: "Hammers Esports". During this time he had a spot in the lineup in various streamed leagues. The lineup consisted of players that would later on participate in the first season of CRL in Los Angeles (Surgical Goblin, Backstabx, Carter). During this period he stood out for his win percentage in the RPL League.

"Team Queso", at the time, a new found Spanish organisation lead by Alvaro approached Surgical Goblin and Mthja. This lead up to both joining the team. Team Queso was the start of a great succes for Mthja as he became a serious competitor in LAN Tournaments and Events (see achievements).

Around August 2nd, 2017 however, Mthja wanted more space to create a team to his liking. SuiJeneris (at the time a manager of his) helped him build a team that was sent out to Atlanta's Kingscup. Unfortunately they did not manage to take home a prize. Their team disbanded around a month later due to mere successes and Mthja became a free agent. During this period he was asked mutliple times to be an analyst on the official CCGS League. Being interviewed twice on the show he attracted interest from "Tribe Gaming". Here he built their European organisation alongside Benjamin "Ben(tm)" Rodgers their coach. With the CRL League Season 1 upcoming however the team disbanded to focus on the American Region.

Around February-May, Mthja was contacted by "SK Gaming", a German organisation with a vivid history in Counter-Strike and League of Legends. Here he decided to join together with Justus Flobby von Eitzen. As stated by Mthja: "First me and Flobby joined, then we just looked for the best talent and for both of us this was Matt_01. SK Gaming then took on board Matt_01 and after the combine in Amsterdam, Badr Loay Darwish and Morten.

Mthja contributed on several occasions in the "2v2 format" beating both Team Liquid's world class players Frank "Surgical Goblin" Oskam and "DiegoB", and a week later beating Fnatic's duo. After a succesful season for Mthja, he and his team decided to part ways with each other around New Year, 2019 leaving Mthja a free agent, shortly followed by his retirement note.
