The Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test was a beta for Counter-Strike 2 that began on March 22^nd, 2023, and continued to run until the official release of the game on September 27^th, 2023.

The Limited Test is only available for selected players based on number of factors deemed important by the Counter-Strike 2 development team, including (but not limited to) recent playtime on Valve official servers, trust factor, and Steam account standing.

Game Modes

Initially the Limited Test offered Deathmatch and Unranked Competitive matchmaking on Dust II. Every few weeks Valve proceeded to add a new map to the map pool of the limited test, swapping out which could be queued for official matchmaking. Once a map was added, it remained available for offline play permanently. The 2023-08-31 Patch added the final map from CS:GO and enabled a new matchmaking mode known as Premier, enabling all competitive maps in this mode.
