ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 - New Challengers Stage

- The New Challengers Stage: January 12th - 15th, 2018 in
Atlanta
- Formerly the Major Offline Qualifier
- 16 Team Swiss System Format
- All matches are Bo1
- Top 8 Teams proceed to The New Legends Stage
- Bottom 8 Teams are eliminated

- First Round (Seeded)
- Seeding Pool 1: Teams in place 9-11th one from place 12-14th at PGL Major Kraków 2017
- Seeding Pool 2: Remaining teams from place 12-14th and place 15-16th teams at PGL Major Kraków 2017
- Seeding Pool 3: 1st place teams from the Minor Championships (Asia, Americas, CIS & Europe)
- Seeding Pool 4: 2nd place teams from the Minor Championships (Asia, Americas, CIS & Europe)
- Tie-breakers for seeding between pools from the same placement ranges (in order):
- Win-Loss Ratio
- Head-to-Head match result
- Random draw
- Teams from Seeding Pool 1 are drawn versus teams from Seeding Pool 4
- Teams from Seeding Pool 2 are drawn versus teams from Seeding Pool 3
- Second Round
- Division into 2 groups:
- Winners of the first round ("High")
- Losers of the first round ("Low")
- Each team is drawn an opponent they have not played yet from their group
- Division into 2 groups:
- Third Round
- Division into 3 groups:
- Teams with a score of 2:0 ("High")
- Teams with a score of 1:1 ("Mid")
- Teams with a score of 0:2 ("Low")
- Each team is drawn an opponent they have not played yet from their group
- Winners of the high group advance to the next stage
- Losers of the low group are eliminated
- Division into 3 groups:
- Fourth Round
- Division into 2 groups:
- Teams with a score of 2:1 ("High")
- Teams with a score of 1:2 ("Low")
- Each team is drawn an opponent they have not played yet from their group
- Winners of the high group advance to the next stage
- Losers of the low group are eliminated
- Division into 2 groups:
- Fifth Round
- Each team is drawn an opponent they have not played yet from their group
- Winners advance to the next stage
- Losers are eliminated
- Due to 100 Thieves not being able to attend the Major, a team that goes out with a record of 2-3 in
will still qualify for The New Legends Stage. More information can be found below.

Replacement Team Determination
Format
- Teams with a 2-3 record will be ranked against each other using
the following criteria (in order until no team is ranked equally):
- Sum of the their opponents' total match wins
- Head-to-Head match results
- Random Draws
- The 2nd & 3rd ranked teams will compete against each other in a Bo1
- The winner will face the 1st ranked team in another Bo1
- The team left standing proceeds to The New Legends Stage
