Intel Extreme Masters elevated eSports onto a new level entirely. The first season brought together the eSports elite from 24 European countries. With prize money of €160,000 (about $205,000), topped off by Intel Friday Night Game offline events in large European cities, the Extreme Masters by ESL set new standards for European gaming tournaments.

Format[edit]

  • Group Stage: March 15th - March 16th, 2007
    • Two single-elimination format Groups (4 teams each)
    • All matches are Bo1
    • Top two teams from each group advance to the Playoffs
  • Playoffs: March 17th - March 18th, 2007
    • Double-Elimination bracket
    • All matches are Bo1
    • Final is Bo3
