Achievements

The Brügger & Thomet MP9 (Machine Pistol 9mm) is a machine pistol designed and manufactured by Brügger & Thomet of Switzerland. The MP9 is a selective-fire 9x19mm Parabellum caliber machine pistol. It uses 15, 20, 25, 30 round transparent polymer detachable box magazines. It has three safeties; ambidextrous safety / fire mode selector switch button (manual safety), trigger safety and drop safety. The MP9 is a development of the Steyr TMP. Differences from the TMP include a stock that folds to the right side of the weapon, an integrated Picatinny rail, and a new trigger safety.

In 2001 B&T started to analyze the needs of military and police operators the world over who are in need of a shoulder fired 9mm support weapon. After completing this study B&T negotiated and purchased the ingenious TMP Tactical Machine Pistol. This included all patents, drawings and production rights. Based on the day to day experience of professional users and considering all the other submachine guns on the market today B&T redesigned the TMP to arrive at the new MP9 Tactical Machine Pistol.

The MP9 is light weight, small size, folding stock and rounded edges makes this a excellent choice for police agencies and militaries which need to have a support weapon carried in the dignitary or VIP protection role, normal patrol, special units, vehicle crew members, aviators or anyone.

Tactics[edit]

The MP9 has a high fire rate and loses very little accuracy at close to medium range while running or jumping, which makes it an excellent ambush weapon and corner-peeker for a second round CT buy. Once the T side has armor, however, the MP9 quickly becomes irrelevant, as it lacks armor penetration, has a difficult recoil pattern to counteract, and cannot sustain its wall of bullets as well as the P90 and PP-Bizon. Stay mobile and aggressive the round you pick it up and expect to trade for an M4 at the start of round 3.

Trivia[edit]

  • The MP9 is the most accurate smg when running or jumping.
