The Imperial is a British esports organization. The organization fielded teams in Counter-Strike: Source before shuttering in 2011. Five years later, the organization resurfaced with a new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team.

History[edit]

The Imperial Enter CS:GO - Danish Roster (May 2016 - August 2016)[edit]

The Imperial entered the CS:GO scene with the signing of a Danish squad headlined by Henrik "FeTiSh" Christensen and ex-Copenhagen Wolves player Bo "wantz" Vestergaard. However, the team struggled to make a mark on the international scene after struggling to find success in various qualifiers. This would lead to organisation releasing them of their services.

The Imperial Returns - British Roster (February 2017 - April 2017)[edit]

After a six month hiatus, The Imperial signed a British roster headlined Jake "Boaster" Howlet and Jake "Jakem" McCausland. Overall, the squad failed to generate critical success with only a 4th place finish at ESl Premiership Group stage. As a result, they were released after only two months with the organization.

Bulgarian Success - Third Roster April 2017 - September 2017[edit]

On April 28, The Imperial quickly reentered the scene by signing the Bulgarian Mortal Kombat team. The team found notable success in winning online tournaments, most notably Balkan Pro League Season 2, Hellcase Cup 5 and Skinhub Championship marking the most successful months in the organisation's history. During this time, the team also came 2nd in Season 25 of ESEA: Main. However, shortly after their promotion to ESEA Premier, the squad was released. Oli Adams, CEO of The Imperial stated that his ultimate goal for his organization was to attend the Major, something this squad was incapable of doing because of dream3r's VAC ban. As a result, the organization made the difficult choice to part ways with the squad.

The Hottest Roster - European Roster March 2018 - Present[edit]

On March 3rd 2018, 6 months after parting ways with their Bulgarian roster, The Imperial returned once again by signing European mix team MANS NOT HOT. The roster consisted of ex-Dignitas players AcilioN and Tenzki, Ex-Renegades player nexa and Lithuanian players nukkye and EspiranTo. The team was overseen by coach and manager NeiL_M from Team Infused. After a rough start for the squad, it would win EGB Battles over German mix Sprout. Afterwards, they would go on to qualify for the 2018 Copenhagen Games. In their first LAN event, the team gained recognition and praise for two upset victories against Heroic and North, ultimately winning the tournament.
