AEF Dota 2 League S5 Division 2
AEF Season 5 returns for its fifth season, after being unveiled during the conclusion of last season's Finals in Melbourne.
Registration was released on the 9th April, with group stages beginning on the 7th May and concluding after a seven-week round-robin on the 21st June.
Spag and Sons were last season's Division 2 winners. On the 17th April, it was unveiled that Spag and Sons were picked up by Trident ESports. The point system from last season is retained with a game win providing 1 point, and a clean sheet providing 3 points.
- Weekly single round robin in a Bo3 series
- 2-0 sweep provides 3 points
- 2-1 win gives 2 points
- 1-2 loss gives 1 point
- Tiebreaker conditions:
- Tiebreaker if required Bo3
Total prize pool for the tournament is $900 AUD.

- 1 On the 11th June, Chuck Finks disbanded and all matches are awarded a 2-0 win to the opposing team.
Relegation battles occur at the end of the season where the second-last team in the current division plays against the second-best team in the lower division in a Bo3 or Bo5 to determine the placements for next season. Last season's playoff match saw Devious Dota defeated Smooth Killing 3-2 in the Bo5 series, resulting Devious to remain in Division 2 and Smooth Killing to stay in Division 3. In a second successive season, Devious Dota who finished second last in Division two would be playing against Smooth Gaming in the third division.
