History
Cloud9 is a North American eSports organisation currently fielding teams in Hearthstone, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Cloud9 made its debut into the Dota 2 arena by signing the former Speed Gaming team in February 2014.[1] Cloud9 disbanded their latest Dota 2 competitive team in April 2020.
Timeline[edit]
- January 5th - Aui_2000 and pieliedie are replaced by BigDaddy and Misery.[4]
- January 13th - After much speculation and rumours, Cloud9 officially announces that while pieliedie and Aui_2000 have been removed from the playing roster, they are still a part of the organization.[5]
- August 14th - Cloud9 releases current Dota squad.[6]
- September 1st - Cloud9 picks up the roster of Team Dark Horse.[7]
- September 4th - Loomdun registers with the team as a sub.[8]
- November 16th - Ritsu is dismissed from the roster.[9]
- November 27th - Cloud9 releases Dota 2 squad.[10]

- On March 20th, 2015, Cloud9 broke the record for the longest competitive Dota2 match against ScaryFaceZ in the Star Ladder Series Season 12 Europe+CIS qualifiers. The match lasted for 3 hours, 20 minutes, and 24 seconds.[21]
