David "Parker" Nicho Flores (also known as JimPark) (born July 6, 2002) is a Peruvian player who is currently playing for Team Secret.

Biography[edit]

Early career[edit]

Parker began his career in 2019, as a promising young player from Peru. With Inverse, he played in DPC SA 2021 Season 1: Lower Division initially as a substitute, before joining them full-time the next season, as they finished fourth. He continued to work his way up the scene, playing for Infinity, Infamous and Ravens in the Dota Pro Circuit, showcasing his talent.

While his talent was not in question, there were many questions about his temperament and consistency. With Infamous, Oscar implied that Parker was unprofessional, leading to his departure from the team.[1] He left Infinity due to misconduct, as reported by the organization,[2] and shortly afterwards he allegedly cost Ravens its Dota Pro Circuit slot.[3]

beastcoast[edit]

In May 2023, Parker got his big break when he stood in for K1 (for health reasons) in beastcoast during DPC SA 2023 Tour 3: Division I. beastcoast, who had unexpectedly lost to Mad Kings, quickly bounced back with Parker, securing second place and a spot at the Bali Major. The switch was made permanent soon after. At the Bali Major, beastcoast secured an Upper Bracket spot in a tough group, containing Team Liquid, Tundra Esports, Team Aster, Team Spirit and Shopify Rebellion. In the Playoffs, however, beastcoast were unable to continue this momentum, losing to eventual winners Gaimin Gladiators, beating Shopify Rebellion but being eliminated by 9Pandas. Parker's season ended on a sour note, as he and beastcoast finished joint-last at Riyadh Masters 2023 and The International 2023, despite the occasional highlight.

Post-TI shuffles and HEROIC[edit]

In the post-International shuffles, Parker was unable to secure a strong team, forcing him to work his way up once again. He played for Invaders, Infinity, Estar Backs, and Cuyes Esports, securing some small tournament victories along the way in RES Regional Series: LATAM #1 and Maincard Unmatched - March. On July 2024, he once again broke through after BOOM Esports signed him ahead of Elite League Season 2, where Parker performed excellently, finishing 3rd after being eliminated by eventual tournament winners Team Liquid. However, the team was dropped by BOOM Esports as it looked to return to Southeast Asia. The roster continued to compete as Team Waska, and qualified to PGL Wallachia Season 2 with a 3-1 win over Infinity.

However, as the qualifier was held before The International 2024, and the tournament itself afterwards, the reshuffle saw Parker once again replace K1 (this time choosing to take a break from competitive play) on HEROIC, the strongest team in the region. Once again, Parker slotted in perfectly for HEROIC, qualifying for DreamLeague Season 24 without too much hassle. At PGL Wallachia, Parker was in outstanding form throughout the tournament, whether playing as a farming carry in Templar Assassin, or an all-action tempo carry on Monkey King. In the Grand Finals against powerhouses Team Falcons, Parker brought his best performances to the fore, with a 3-1 victory with a combined K/D/A of 60/10/44. This secured South America's first ever international LAN victory, and Parker was voted MVP of the tournament.[4]

However, the honeymoon did not last. HEROIC disappointed in DreamLeague Season 24, finishing second-last in the group stage. HEROIC then lost to beastcoast 2-3 in the ESL One Bangkok 2024: South America Closed Qualifier in disappointing fashion. Three days later, HEROIC benched Parker, stating that disagreements over team strategy in the qualifier led to Parker showing a lack of desire to win.[5] Parker responded a day later, claiming draft disagreements with coach kaffs, including preferential treatment towards their Brazilian players (4nalog and KJ), insults by teammate KJ, and wanting Davai Lama to be replaced. He also addressed a key moment in the deciding match against beastcoast, which had gathered attention on social media, where Parker appeared to abandon his team during a key Roshan fight: Parker said that, as Medusa, he lacked Stone Gaze (having used it previously), and therefore they should have just given up Roshan and farmed elsewhere, which was why he decided to show himself on the map, farming the midlane. The fact that the team went in and fought 4v5 was a mistake by the rest of the team.[6]

Parker received a reprieve of sorts when Team Secret requested that Parker stand-in for them in the FISSURE PLAYGROUND Belgrade 2025: Western Europe Closed Qualifier. According to HEROIC's Director of Esports, this would be a good opportunity for Parker to learn from legendary captain Puppey, although this did not change his status with HEROIC.[7] He joined Team Secret permanently on February 18.[8]
