Team Faceless is a professional Dota 2 team based in Singapore.

Overview[edit]

Team Faceless began amidst the rumors that iceiceice was planning to return to Singapore during the post-International roster shuffles. The team formally announced its roster on September 3rd, starting their journey in the qualifiers for ROG MASTERS. Unfortunately, they fell to a disappointing 8th-place finish.

Team Faceless recovered immediately by taking the SEA qualifier spot for The Summit 6. They continued to go undefeated for the entire duration of the South-East Asian qualifiers for Boston Major 2016.

After underwhelming performances at The Summit 6 and The Boston Major, Faceless rebounded by placing 3rd at Dota Pit League Season 5, beating the likes of Digital Chaos, Virtus.pro & Invictus Gaming on the way to their first top 3 placing at an international LAN. Building on this success, the team enjoyed successful qualifier runs in both the Dota2 Asia Championships and The Kiev Major, arguably establishing themselves as the top dog in SEA.

Following surprise losses to HappyFeet and Geek Fam, Faceless crashed out of The Summit 7 qualifiers. The team responded well after that, defeating a new-look Mineski squad in the finals to take the sole SEA qualifier slot for the Manila Masters.

A poor performance during the Dota2 Asia Championships, where they finished 7-8th, raised questions about the team's performance at international LANs. The team came under further scrutiny after another disappointing group stage result at The Kiev Major, placing 13th out of 16 teams. In their match against regional rivals TNC Pro Team in the main event, a revitalised Faceless triumphed with a hard-fought 2-1 win, securing themselves top 8 at the Major. Despite defeating OG in game 1, Faceless would go on to lose 2-1 against them, thus ending their journey at the major with a 5-8th placing.

A listless LAN showing during the StarLadder i-League Invitational #2 would see Faceless finish joint-last. After numerous poor LAN results, the team decided a role switch was necessary. This entailed Black^ taking up the mid position and Jabz moving to support. With this change, Faceless recorded several impressive performances — a clean sweep against Clutch Gamers and an impressive triumph over OG — on their way to a top 4 finish at the Manila Masters.

Along with TNC, Faceless were hot favourites to qualify for The International 2017 from the SEA region. But a disastrous 2nd day in the qualifiers would see the team fail to qualify for The International 2017. Following this, Faceless disbands.
