Participating teams earn the following prizes for each of two Parts of Phase 2:
- 1st place in a Part: 35,000 USD
- 2nd: 27,500 USD
- 3rd-8th: 25,000 USD
425,000 USD is spread among the teams as seen below:
Format[edit]
- Group Stage: Double Round Robin
- All matches are best-of-5.
- After Week 5:
- 1st-4th place will qualify for the 2018 HGC Phase 2 Western Clash.
- The winning region will unlock a third spot for the 2018 HGC Phase 2 Finals. (Europe)
- After Week 10:
- 1st place will directly qualify for the 2018 HGC Phase 2 Finals.
- 2nd-6th place will advance to the Playoffs.
- 7th-8th place will fall into the 2018 HGC Phase 2 North America Crucible.
- Playoffs: Stepladder Tournament
- All matches are best-of-5.
- 1st place will qualify for the 2018 HGC Phase 2 Finals.

Participating Teams[edit]
- 1, 2 Gale Force eSports decided to not continue in the HGC. The roster continued as Team DJ and later got picked up by Endemic Esports.
- 3 Kala started the season as the coach of Tempo Storm, but got replaced by Swoy, while he became the new Team Manager on July 13th.[1]
Swoy left the team shortly after the Western Clash in August. - 4 After some weeks of playing as stand-in for psalm, who retired right before the start of the new season, ViN officially joins Tempo Storm as new player on July 18th.[2]
- 5 Aware from LFM Esports retires after Week 5 to persue a job opportunity. He will be replaced by Darkchimaera for the second half of Phase 2.
- 6 Arthelon from HeroesHearth Esports retires after Week 7. For the remaining weeks he got replaced mainly by TalkingTrees and Homicidal.
