History[edit]
In 2016, Immortals announced their acquisition of Team 8's LCS slot, with several investors forming a strong backing for the organization. Eventually, with franchising around the corner, Immortals was confirmed as one of the organizations to not make it into the league. This changed in 2020, Immortals Gaming Club acquired OpTic Gaming and brought back the Immortals League of Legends brand to compete in the LCS in place of OpTic.
