LCS Spring 2021
Double Round-Robin
Playoffs:
Double Elimination
League Championship Series 2021 Spring is the 17th North American LCS season and the second LCS tournament of the year.
Several North American teams made large roster changes ahead of the new season. Golden Guardians settled on a deal to sell Closer, Damonte, FBI and huhi to 100 Thieves [1][2][3][4]. This resulted in Golden Guardians rebuilding their entire roster, building their roster around rookies because of budget concerns due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cloud9 acquired the former G2 Esports player Perkz, a roster move which surprised many in the League of Legends community [5]. FlyQuest acquired several Cloud9 and Cloud9 Academy players, with Licorice, Palafox and Diamond moving to FlyQuest.
Former TSM midlaner Bjergsen announced his retirement, moving to a coaching position within TSM [6]. Former TSM botlaner Doublelift announced his retirement later on, retiring after almost 10 years of competition and 8 LCS titles [7].
