Lee "Fearless" Eui-Seok (born May 27, 1998) is a retired Korean player who last played for ZETA DIVISION.

History[edit]

Fearless' professional Overwatch career began with Element Mystic, playing alongside Sp9rk1e, Rapel, and Jecse. While the team did not play in APEX during his time there, they were still successful in mid-level tournaments, and the players were relatively well-known by the beginning of the Overwatch League.

Fearless was signed to the Shanghai Dragons near the beginning of Season 1. The team struggled immensely, ending the season with an 0-40 record. All players on the team bore the reputation of the worst players in the league, and many would drop out of the League for good after that year. Fearless in particular was considered one of the weakest Tank players in the league, and was demoted to the Dragons' academy team, Team CC.[citation needed]

While Fearless' first tournament with CC resulted in a disappointing Top 8 finish, the team was able to place 2nd in Contenders China 2019 Season 2 under coach Moon. Throughout the rest of 2019 and early 2020, Fearless would continue to practice in Contenders and attempt to rejoin the Overwatch League.

Fearless was given another chance in early 2020, when he was re-signed to the Dragons for OWL Season 3. The team then won the May Melee tournament, beating the Seoul Dynasty in a 4-3 reverse sweep series in which Fearless was awarded Player of the Match for his Winston play. The Dragons finished the season with a 27-2 record, the best in the league. While heavily favored in the Playoffs,[citation needed] the Dragons would place 3rd. In a single year, Fearless had gone from almost-forgotten to one of the most respected Tank players in the world.

Fearless then signed with the Dallas Fuel for Season 4, reuniting with many of his old friends from Element Mystic. Winning the May Melee, the team would go on to place 2nd in the Regular Season and 3rd in the Playoffs.

The Fuel retained the same core for Season 5, while making some upgrades. Fearless' signature Winston was not meta for the majority of the season, and he did not see much playtime, with the Fuel’s coaches favouring HanBin at the time. Winston was meta for playoffs however, where Fearless could showcase his talent on Winston. The Fuel were considered a top contender throughout the season. They placed 1st in the Regular Season and beat the San Francisco Shock in the Grand Finals to win Fearless' first trophy.

Fearless transferred to the Houston Outlaws for Season 6, remaining in the North American region as the Fuel moved to Asia. They placed 2nd in both the Midseason Madness and the Playoffs. Later that year, Fearless played for South Korea in the World Cup under his longtime coach RUSH.

After the end of OWL, Fearless won Flash Ops Holiday Showdown with team "Hamster." He did not find a team for Overwatch Champions Series, and decided to retire. He came out of retirement when ZETA DIVISION announced their roster for Esports World Cup. There, the team placed in the Top 4, after a close loss to Toronto Ultra. In all five matches played, the opposing team banned Fearless' signature Winston pick.[citation needed] Fearless' contract expired soon after, and he retired to enlist in the military, officially ending Fearless' professional career in competitive Overwatch.[1][2]
