General Tips[edit]

  • McCree is a close to mid-range hero that specializes in dealing high damage to key targets a short distance away and eliminating people that come close.
  • McCree isn't the most mobile hero, but makes up for it with high damage. Precise aiming is key. Use your abilities at the right times.

Weapon Tips[edit]

  • Try to get headshots with this weapon whenever you can. A headshot with max damage and an extra bullet can take down some heroes easily.
  • Damage falls off with distance. Try to get a little close with this weapon.

Fan the Hammer[edit]

  • This ability is a great option for eliminating someone up close that you got with your Flashbang.
  • Bullets fired during Fan the Hammer deal less damage overall, so it sometimes might be better to just left-click.
  • Fan the Hammer will only fire as many rounds as you have in your gun, so if you're low on ammo, use your Combat Roll or just finish off the person with a left-click.

Combat Roll[edit]

  • This ability reloads your revolver, so use it when you're in a middle of a heated battle.
  • You could potentially evade snipers with this weapon, but it is hard to pull off if they know where you're going.
  • The roll will go in any direction you are holding, not what you're facing at, so you can use it to misdirect your opponent.

  • The flashbang only goes a small distance, so don't reveal your position by missing your flashbang and try using it at close range.
  • Pick your targets with this ability, because of it's 10-second cooldown.

Ultimate: Deadeye[edit]

  • Use this ability to shutdown big pushes or a defense.
  • Don't worry if you're low on ammo when popping ult, you can still kill more than how much ammo you have, but you will still have to reload after using it.
  • You have plenty of time to get everyone in sight of your deadeye, so be patient.

  • Lucio can amp up his speed buff during your ult to help you get your targets.
  • When you're not flanking, you can go behind Reinhardt's shield and deal damage from it.

Is Countered By[edit]

Armed with his Peacekeeper revolver, the outlaw Jesse McCree doles out justice on his own terms.

McCree had already made a name for himself as a member of the notorious Deadlock Gang, which trafficked in illicit weapons and military hardware throughout the American Southwest, when he and his associates were busted in an Overwatch sting operation. With his expert marksmanship and resourcefulness, he was given the choice between rotting in a maximum-security lockup and joining Blackwatch, Overwatch's covert ops division. He chose the latter.

Although he was initially cynical, he came to believe that he could make amends for his past sins by righting the injustices of the world. McCree appreciated the flexibility afforded to the clandestine Blackwatch, unhindered by bureaucracy and red tape. But as Overwatch's influence waned, rogue elements within Blackwatch sought to bring down the organization and turn it to their own ends. Wanting no part of the infighting, McCree set off alone and went underground.

He resurfaced several years later as a gunslinger for hire. But while McCree's talents are sought after by parties great and small, he fights only for causes he believes are just.
