Alex "seeker" Taylor (born August 7, 2004) is a Canadian/American player who is currently playing for Spacestation Gaming.
History[edit]
seeker began his competitive career at the age of 15 with DarkMode eSports, playing alongside a rotating roster that eventually qualified to Contenders in early 2020. After placing last, the team decided to compete in Contenders South America and won their first season. In late 2020, seeker returned to NA, and in Contenders 2021 March, contributed to Revival's historic upset of American Tornado. The roster was transferred to Noble ahead of Season 2, where the team placed 5-6th and was relegated to Trials, marking seeker's last Contenders appearance. In Trials, seeker joined Avidity, but the team placed 5th and was relegated to Open Division.
In late 2022, seeker joined the Boston Uprising midway through the OWL Regular Season, a move which was announced shortly after Striker's departure from the team. He saw limited playtime, spending two months on the inactive roster before turning 18, and thereafter trading playtime with Victoria.[1] The team finished in 14th place and released their roster after the season. The next year, seeker returned to OWL on the Los Angeles Valiant's infamous budget roster.[2] While they placed second-to-last in both the Spring Stage and Summer Stage, seeker was still noted by fans and analysts as a bright spot for the team.[citation needed] After the season, seeker received attention for his performance at the World Cup with Team Canada, where he made Playoffs and took a map off of Team South Korea. Later that year, he won the Flash Ops Holiday Showdown with Timeless, marking the second time he beat Primis Tornado's roster 4-3 in a Grand Final.
Ahead of OWCS 2024 Stage 1, seeker was initially signed to YFP Gaming, but was released hours before the roster deadline, and instead competed unsigned with PUG team "LFO." In Stage 2, seeker formed a roster that competed under the name FMCL. The team was acquired by Timeless for FACEIT Master Season 1, where they narrowly qualified to the Esports World Cup. After Timeless announced that they were not able to sponsor an EWC run, the roster was picked up by NTMR.[3] Playing under this name, the team was knocked out in the group stage. seeker remained with NTMR through the rest of the 2024 season, eventually qualifying to the World Finals in Stockholm. Soon after qualifying, screenshots surfaced of seeker using discriminatory language as a teenager, prompting him to post a public apology and take a hiatus from content creation.[4] Responses from fans, organizations, and other players were generally sympathetic, and no disciplinary action was taken.[5][6][7] At the finals, they placed 5-6th.
In January 2025, seeker returned to the spotlight with the announcement of Spacestation Gaming's new North American OWCS roster.[8] Soon after, an anomymous source came forward with further evidence of past improper speech as well as other unsubstantiated accusations,[9] after which seeker reiterated his previous apology and recieved support from the greater community, including from Spacestation's CEO.[10] The team placed 2nd in Stage 1, qualifying to the Champions Clash in Hangzhou.
