Johannes "Shax" Nielsen is a Danish Hitscan DPS player currently playing for the London Spitfire, and is known for his outstanding Tracer play.

Career[edit]

Shax started out playing Overwatch during the open beta for the game in 2016. From the moment he started playing, he realized his potential and skill on heroes like Tracer and Reaper, so he decided to become a hitscan DPS. Shax began to play semi-professionally when he joined Give Me Nano Boost in 2017, playing for the most part, small-time. His next team would come shortly after, in February of the same year, when he joined Team Singularity Gorillaz. For a small-time player at that point, Shax would find lots of success playing on Gorillaz, with his biggest accomplishment being landing a first place finish at the Insomnia60 Overwatch Open. During his tenure at Gorillaz, he would also join Magistra, earning second place at two ESL Overwatch events. He would stop playing for Magistra in May. Shax would leave Team Singularity Gorillaz in June to join Hashtag Brownies, with the team disbanding as a whole a couple of days later. Shax would only remain on Hashtag Brownies for a little more than a week before he would leave the team. Between then and his next official team, Shax would play in one tournament for KGSZL, earning third at Legend Series Overwatch. Next, he would join the Copenhagen Flames, whom he would play in five tournaments for, earning two first place finishes. In between then and his next team, Shax would briefly play for Fragsters microsoft in the HulkTastic Cup, a tournament created to honor INTERNETHULK. After leaving the Copenhagen Flames in November of 2017, Shax would join Orgless and Hungry a month later, his first real step into Overwatch Contenders. While on the roster, he would secure two first place finishes in Open Division 2018 Season 1 - Europe and Overwatch Contenders 2018 Season 1 Trials: Europe. Shax's big break would come next, when he joined the Mayhem Academy roster. While on the roster, Shax would impress with his signature, lightning-fast Tracer, which would first come to attract the attention of Team Denmark, whom he would go on to play for until their last appearance at the Overwatch World Cup 2019. He will likely play for them again if they make another appearance. The peak of Shax's career arrived when he was traded from Mayhem Academy to the Los Angeles Valiant, formally joining the Overwatch League. In the Overwatch League he would become known as a menace on hitscan DPS, in particular he trademark Tracer. Shax would land the nastiest pulse bombs and hit the most precise plays in the enemy backline, earning a rightful reputation as a menace in the scene, while also maintaining a very respectable Reaper. One such play was on Oasis versus the Washington Justice, where Shax landed a pulse bomb while getting booped off the map and then recalled back onto the point in order to secure four kills and win the map. After serving with the Valiant for over a year, Shax, along with the rest of the roster, was released from the team in January of 2021, with the Valiant citing "...COVID-related visa issues..." as the reason why. In February 2021, he was announced to have been signed by the London Spitfire, whom he is currently representing in the Overwatch League.
