Guxue's name means 孤雪 (孤独的雪) or Lonely Snow.^[3]
Guxue became well known to the rest of world due to his performance with Team China.
Guxue began to play Overwatch under the influence of 夏一可(summeronecan), a famous influencer in the Chinese Blizzard community. His alternate id 夏一可的黄瓜精(summeronecan's cucumber) is because 夏一可 once said in her stream that "my boyfriend is 黄瓜精(cucumber)".^[4]
His mechanics when using Winston's ultimate primal rage led the community to call his use of the ultimate "primal blade", comparing it to the high damage output of Genji's ultimate.^[5]
