History

Acquired in September 2016 by Boston Celtics power forward Jonas Jerebko, Renegades is a multi-title esports organization that’s quickly becoming a household name. But in the Paladins esports scene, this organization has seen a more volatile history than pretty much any other PPL team in North America. Ever since the original Renegades roster was picked up out of the PGS, this org has seen a considerable number of changes to its team lineup -- which might be a contributing factor to their middle-of-the-pack performance across the PPL.

In spite of their underwhelming 2017 performance, though, this team still took the stage at the Paladins World Championship in place of a CIS team that was unable to attend. The guys of Renegades tried to make the most of their lucky break, but ultimately came up short and were knocked out of the running. Even so, they’re ready to tackle another year of pro Paladins -- although they’ll be doing so without superstar player ShadeeyShades, who has moved to SK Gaming.

As Renegades dive into the 2018 season, only time will tell whether they can settle into their new roster and find more success in the PPL than they ever have before. Fans of this squad are certainly hoping that they’ll be able to overcome whatever’s been holding them back and rise to the top of the competitive Paladins circuit.

• March 7th - ShadeeyShades leaves the team to join SK Gaming.
