Axilotl
Nils "Axilotl" Dunlop is a Swedish Pokémon VGC player. Nils has competed in both the Seniors and Masters division. The name "Axilotl" comes from his favorite Pokémon Swampert that people believe is based on the animal Axolotl. He is occasionally coached by his brother, Daniel, and family friend Victor Larsson.
He is most known for his results at the Pokémon World Championships where he placed 5th, 5th, and 3rd in 2016, 2017, and 2018 respectively. At each of these events he was knocked out by the eventual world champion every time. He has also won two Regional Championships, Malmö 2017 and Richmond 2019, as well as been in several top cuts at major international tournaments over the past 5 years. Most notably top 8 at both the Europe International Championships and North American International Championships in 2017. Before the tournament cycle's unfortunate pause in 2020-2021 due to Covid-19, Nils placed top 16 at the Malmö Regional Championships 2020
