Liquipedia:Notability Guidelines

Please note that inclusion of pages in mainspace is ultimately up to the discretion of the Liquipedia administrators.
Sadly, not everything can or should be added to the wiki. We want all our pages to be as up-to-date as possible and to meet our quality standards. Additionally, we strive to have all pages meet a certain level of notability to current fans of the game or those wanting to research its history. As such, some pages will be rejected due to a lack of quality or relevance. Any pages that do not meet these guidelines will NOT be deleted, but will be moved to your userspace.

Player/Team/Coach Point System[edit]
Notability Points for teams/players/coaches are awarded as follows:
- * This notability table only applies after March 10th, 2022. Teams & Players who already have their page created before the updated notability table above will not be affected.
- S-Tier: 15 points for a Top 16 finish and 10 points for any other finish.
- A-Tier: 8 points for a Top 3 finish, 5 points for a Top 8 finish, 3 points for Top 12 finish and 1 point for Top 16 finish.
- B-Tier: 4 points for a Top 1 finish, 2 points for a Top 3 finish and 1 point for a Top 8 finish.
- C-Tier: 2 points for a Top 1 finish and 1 point for a Top 3 finish.
- D-Tier: 1 point for a Top 1 finish.

Page creation eligibility are based on both the notability threshold and minimum prize money earnings:
- Team: Achieving 15 points and $5,000 USD.
- Player: Achieving 15 points and $3,000 USD.
- Coach: Achieving 25 points and $3,000 USD.
Teams/Players who have reached between 12 - 14 points of notability are open for discussion on behalf of the editors for page creation, and shall take into account their minimum prize money earnings.

Exclusion List[edit]
The following events are not considered when granting notability, regardless of the tier it is categorized in:
- Influencer Tournaments
- Tournaments that contain high density of influencers/content creators do not count towards notability, such as the PUBG Mobile Star Challenge 2019
- Qualifier Tournaments
- Tournaments that seeds teams into a main event.
- Showmatch Tournaments
- Tournaments that are meant as fun matches for players and/or influencers.
- Weekly/Monthly Tournaments
- Tournaments that occur regularly and frequently.
Players & Coaches[edit]
Players and Coaches may receive their individual pages, as long as they surpass a certain threshold of notability. Check the bullet points below. If your chosen player fits at least one of these, then they are likely notable to warrant a page on this wiki.
- Achievements: If the player has met the notability threshold as stated above.
*Prize money earnings are equally counted as one fourth of the team winnings - Sponsored: If the player is a notable member of a major organisation.
To create a new player page, follow the Player Page Tutorial.
Teams[edit]
Teams may receive pages when they surpass a certain threshold of notability. Check the bullet points below. Please note that notable results will generally be the primary determinant of notability, however if your chosen team fits one of these, then they may be notable to warrant a page on this wiki.
- Achievements: If the team has met the notability threshold as stated above.
- Well-Established Organization: The team is a well-established esports organization with highly notable results in other esports;
- (e.g. Other International events such as IeSF, WESG and M.E.O. which are often labelled "World Championship" are NOT considered as a professional world-level championship)
- Preferably with pages on the other Liquipedia wikis as well (at least 2), Any other titles that is not covered by Liquipedia will be excluded;

Orgless Teams
As we would hope for every notable roster to find an organization, page creation for teams without an organization may be delayed despite their notability. The reason for this is that we do not want to have many pages for teams who have joined an organization shortly after the creation of the page, making it therefore less usable, since the team name is permanently retired in most instances. For example, a page for a team qualified for very notable A-Tier Tournaments or S-Tier Tournaments will typically be delayed until 2-3 days before the start of the event.
Other Organization Members[edit]
Pages for other organization members such as Managers or Founders are always up to administrators' discretion and will only be considered if the person has been playing or coaching at a professional level previously.

Broadcast Talents will require 25 points of notabiltiy to be eligible for a page. The table above show how the point requirements are calculated to meet notability. Please keep in mind that they are only a guideline and that admin decisions are final until circumstances (new events broadcast or missing events added) change.
If the broadcast talent in question also has results as a player or coach, they will also be taken into consideration when notability is being determined.
Any pages existing prior to these new guidelines or any subsequent changes to them will not need to retroactively meet the new standards; they will be left untouched.
Events[edit]
Tournament and League pages can always be created if the event meets certain criteria and is also up to the editors/administrators' discretion. The following things should ALL be met for a tournament to receive a page on the wiki:
- A prize pool of at least $2,000 USD across the event
- For tournaments under the Battlegrounds Mobile India version, A prize pool of at least ₹5,00,000 INR across the event
- Tournaments with prize lowered than that are considered out of coverage scope and may or may not be put into D-Tier Tournaments.
- Note: This accounts solely for prize money paid out directly in cash, for example via bank transfer or PayPal. Other payment methods such as cryptocurrencies, coupons, in-game currencies or hardware prizes do not add up to the $2,000 USD threshold. Exceptions can only be made upon administrators' discretion and only if the event features highly notable teams.
- The tournament (or part of the tournament to be covered) features a majority of players and teams who already have multiple prior participations in events that have been covered on Liquipedia
- The tournament organizer has to impose strict regulation on participated players sticking to their in-game name (to prevent tournaments where players using random names instead of their actual IGN, which could lead to a tournament that contains matchfixing)
- In addition to this, events without prizepool which act as a qualifier for a large tournament can also be added.
- Scrims/Show Matches events that are not Tencent/KRAFTON official will not be added.
Required Information
For a tournament to be covered properly the following details should ALL be present:
- Tournament announcement on social media or news platforms at minimum 10 days ahead of the tournament start
- Basic tournamant information which includes ALL of:
- Full tournament name
- Tournament Logo, as a high resolution transparent .png file or a vector file
Note: Either one version suitable for both light and dark backgrounds, or a separate version for each - Commentators of the event (at least the main broadcast language)
- Start and End Date of the tournament
- Social Media accounts
- Tournament format
- Announcement of event sponsors stating their involvement in the tournament
- A detailed rulebook containing ALL of the following:
- Full detailed tournament format, including details such as map pool, etc.
- Prize Money distribution
- All other details describing how the event will be conducted
- A detailed schedule document containing ALL of the following:
- If applicable, group seeding
- Matchups with the date, time, and time zone when they will take place
- A roster document containing ALL of the following:
- Team Name
- Team Logo
- Detailed information on players, coaches and substitutes used throughout the event
- Required information for each person are:
- In-Game Name (IGN)
- Nationality
- Required information for each person are:
Should a large majority of these not be present 48 hours ahead of the first match in the tournament, we provide no guarantee that the tournament page is ready when the tournament begins.
For any tournament to be added after its conclusion, not all details are required, as long as it is possible to have coverage without any critical details such as prize money, rosters or results missing.
Limitation of Coverage
As many tournaments feature an open sign-up process or a very large number of participants, the coverage of a tournament will not always cover the entirety of an event, but rather all important parts of a tournament. Important parts of a tournament are:
- Stages that are relevant for prize money
- Stages that feature many notable participants
The first round/stage of online events with an open-signup process should almost always be skipped.
Events which are played entirely offline may see additional rounds/stages covered, compared to events fully played online.
Event Removal
Liquipedia admins reserve the right to remove any tournament without any explanations at any Stage of an event. Additionally, Liquipedia admins can deny the coverage of any tournament ahead of its start, should tournament organizers approach editors with the intent to get their event added to the wiki.
User Pages[edit]
Completely optional, but make your userpage a good indication of who you are! You can also store various templates or any useful information within your userpage.
Pages that do not meet the notability guidelines will not be deleted, but instead it will be moved to the original page contributor (page creator)'s userspace. Contributors can continue to work on those pages at any time. Once those pages achieve the notability standard, it will then be moved back to the wiki mainspace.
