TimConLAN

TimConLAN is a series of LAN events, each of which include tournaments of multiple Arena FPS games.

Etymology[edit]

The origin of the name TimConLAN comes from its original event being held at xijjik's (at the time competing under the nickname Neeple) flat whose first name is Tim. Con refers to an abbreviation of convention which is used by some conventions in their names (such as QuakeCon and BlizzCon); some conventions include tournaments. LAN refers to local area network, this type of network can be used to play multiplayer games at low latencies, additionally the acronym LAN is also used as a synonym for tournaments played in person (even if that type of network is not used).

Location[edit]

TimConLAN 1 and 2 were held at xijjik's flat in Buckingham, United Kingdom. Since TimConLAN 3, the TimConLAN events have been held at the Horizon E-Sport Club in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
