Rocket League Championship Series Season 8 - Finals
RLCS Season 8 is the second RLCS season in 2019. This marks the RLCS season prior to where Epic Games has acquired Psyonix - the developer of Rocket League.[1] The main change to the season comes in the Rocket League Rival Series as the second division in the RLCS has been extended to 10 teams from 8.[2]
The World Championship finals are taking place in Madrid, Spain at the Palacio Vistalegre.

- This is the first RLCS World Championship without Fireburner's participation as a player.
- GarrettG is the only player to participate in every single RLCS World Championship.
- jstn became the first player to win an RLCS World Championship after playing in RLRS.
- Turbopolsa became the first player to win 4 RLCS World Championships.
- A record-breaking 14 nationalities will be represented at this season's World Championship. This is the most amount of participating nations any RLCS LAN has ever had. Season 3 and Season 6 owned the previous record at 13 countries.
- The Three Sins is the only orgless team in this World Championship.
- 1 nation will not be represented at this event unlike last season: Wales.
- AztraL is the first Belgian player to take part at a World Championship.
- Pittsburgh Knights is the youngest RLCS World Championship team to this day. retals (16), mist (16) and ExplosiveGyro (17) average the team's age at 16.3.
- This is the first occurence of 3 Rocket League Rival Series teams from last season qualifying straight into this season's World Championship, specifically Veloce Esports, Pittsburgh Knights and eUnited.
- Torsos is the only Oceanic player to participate in every World Championship since Oceania began to participate in Season 3.
- FreaKii returns to the World Championship after missing out in Season 6 and Season 7.
- Additionally, he is the first German player to represent the nation since Season 5.
- France is represented by the same line-up of players from last season's World Championship, minus Alpha54.
- Kamii is the lone representative of New Zealand for the 5th World Championship in a row.
- This season brings back 15 players that participated in last season's World Championship in Newark.
- Turbopolsa is the first cross-regional participant at a RLCS World Championship.
- For the 2nd time in a row following Season 7, South America is represented by only 1 nation - Brazil.
- This is the first World Championship appearance from 7 orgs/teams, specifically: eUnited, Spacestation Gaming, Pittsburgh Knights, Team Reciprocity, Veloce Esports, Canberra Havoc, and The Three Sins.
- This season marks the World Championship debut of 17 players, which is a record (not counting Season 1). Season 3 and Season 7 hosted 16 debutants, which was the previous record.
