Joakim "Akke" Akterhall (pronounced "[ack-eh]") is a Sheik player who currently plays DotA 2 for Horde.

Biography[edit]

Gothenburg native Akke has a long history in gaming - apart from being involved in the competitive DotA scene since 2006 and being part of the Alliance team (formerly No Tidehunter) that won The International III without losing a series, he has also won the Nintendo Swedish Championships three times in 2004, 2006 and 2012.[1] He is one of Alliance's six original members alongside NaNiwa, Loda, AdmiralBulldog, EGM and S4.

Super Smash Bros. Melee[edit]

While officially signed up by Alliance as a professional DotA 2 player when Alliance acquired No Tidehunter, Akke still plays Melee from time to time. Before he joined No Tidehunter, he notably played at Smashers' Reunion: Melee Grande in 2012, where he placed 5th in doubles playing Sheik alongside EK's Sheik against a field that included Armada, Ice, PPMD (then still known as Dr. Peepee) and Leffen despite not being a full-time Smash player. He also played at B.E.A.S.T 5, the biggest European Melee tournament to date.

Trivia[edit]

  • Aside from being a three-time Swedish national Nintendo champion, he has also been the runner-up three times.
  • Is a close friend of Armada from before Armada joined Alliance. When Alliance opened a Melee division in November 2014 and signed him, he welcomed Armada to the team on behalf of the DotA squad on Twitter.[2] and responded to a fan asking if he, Loda and AdmiralBulldog could beat Armada in a handicap match with "Probably not."
  • Before joining No Tidehunter and later Alliance, he played DotA competitively for Counter Logic Gaming and eXperience Gaming, among other teams.
  • Was selected by TI3 Compendium owners to compete in the All-Star Match at The International III. Others chosen included Loda, Dendi and Puppey.
  • His best-known DotA heroes include Crystal Maiden, Keeper of the Light, Enchantress and Chen.
