Smash Summit 9

Smash Summit 9 was a tournament hosted by Beyond The Summit (BTS) that was held on February 13-16, 2020. This is the ninth iteration of the tournament series.
The four highest placing non-invited players at GENESIS 7, and the highest placing non-invited player at Saving Mr. Lombardi 2 will fill the 5 qualifier slots for this event. n0ne, Fiction, Shroomed, and Hax$ qualified through a top 8 finish at GENESIS 7. iBDW qualified through placing 2nd at Saving Mr. Lombardi 2.
Smash Summit 9 will be the first Smash Summit to have 18 players instead of the normal 16. There will be a new format this time around as well, there will be 2 Swiss pools of 9 players where 8 players advance from each pool. 4 will advance to winners and the other 4 will advance to losers. The players who get last place in the Swiss pools will be eliminated before the final bracket begins.[1]
