Smash World Tour 2021
The Smash World Tour 2021 is a Melee and Ultimate tournament circuit hosted by Beardog Events.
Announced on February 20, 2021, this circuit features many tournaments held around the world from March 13 to November 7. It will then conclude with the Smash World Tour Championships.
The circuit is divided into three steps: Qualifiers, Regional Finals, and Championships.
Players are eligible to participate based on their location of residence, and the residency restrictions of each tournament in a given step of the circuit are mutually exclusive. Thus, at each step of the circuit, there is at most one tournament in which any given player can participate. The regions designated by the circuit are: North America East, North America West, Central America, South America, Europe, East Asia, and Oceania.
For each of the 7 Regional Finals, 16 players from that region are invited to compete.
For each of the 7 Regional Finals, 16 players qualify based on their placements in their respective Qualifier or LCQ. Each Regional Final has either one or two Qualifiers, and every Qualifier has an LCQ for which all players who failed to qualify in the Qualifier are eligible to participate. For Regional Finals with one Qualifier, 12 players qualify directly and 4 qualify from the associated LCQ. For Regional Finals with two Qualifiers, 6 players qualify directly from each Qualifier and 2 qualify from each of the associated LCQs.
The following regions have two Qualifiers each:
- North America East: Northeast America and Southeast America
- North America West: Northwest America and Southwest America
- Central America: Mexico and Central America South
- East Asia: Japan and East Asia South
32 players for each game qualify to their respective Championship based on their placements in the Regional Finals. The number of qualification spots for each region are listed below.
