The Big House 5 was a Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U national tournament held in Michigan on October 2-4, 2015. It was hosted by veteran TO Juggleguy and the rest of the Michigan Smash community.
On August 28th, Juggleguy announced that the tournament reached 1,000 entrants for singles, becoming the 3rd tournament to do so after Apex 2015 and EVO 2015.[1] He later announced that doubles reached its 512-player entrant cap[2], and that singles reached its 1,024-player entrant cap.[3] However, he also announced that the entrant cap could be raised through a crowdfunding campaign called The Big House Compendium.[4] The Compendium's rewards will include "the greatest regional Crew Battle of all time", flying out top players to attend, raising the event cap, and more.[5]
On September 16th, Juggleguy announced the final registration numbers. With 1,320 entrants, TBH5 became the second biggest Melee tournament of all time, behind EVO 2015.[6]
