Overview

The 1999 Brood War Season 2 Ladder Tournament started on July 15th, 1999 and consisted of the 16 top-ranked players on the official ladder.[1] The tournament was one of the earliest Brood War tournaments recorded and officially held by Blizzard.

The top eight finishers of the present tournament would join their top eight counterparts from the 1999 Brood War Season 1 Ladder Tournament to compete in the 1999 Brood War Tournament World Championships.

Tournament Information

All the matches in the ladder stage of the tournament were played as a Bo3 while the grand finals was a Bo5. It is also interesting to note that the tournament was played using the game speed "Fast".

$3000 and commemorative prizes were award among the top placing players according to the following distribution:[2]

This is a legacy prize pool. For non award prize pools please use {{Template:SoloPrizePool}}, {{Template:TeamPrizePool}}, {{Template:DuoPrizePool}}, {{ArchonPrizePool}}, {{Template:TrioPrizePool}}, {{QuadPrizePool}} or {{Template:AwardPrizePool}} instead.

3rd to 16th place will be also awarded commemorative plaque engraved with name and final ranking.
