In short: this is sort of double-elimination format until there are 8 players left - then it is single-elimination with third/fourth place match.
The tournament starts with eight Bo1 matches.
8 Losers form their own single-elimination subtournament for two spots in Ro8. They played their second round as Bo1 and third round as Bo3.
8 Winner form their own subtournament for remaining six spots in Ro8. The winners played Bo1 matches against each other and these second round winners were seeded directly into Ro8. The losers in this second round were matched against each other and winners of these Bo1 matches were seeded in the Ro8.
The 4 players that would finish this pre-Ro8 stage without a loss will form half of a draw. The remaining four players formed another half, with two players that lost in the first round matched against each other.
