The 2004 SKY Proleague Round 1 takes place between April 15th and July 17th, 2004. It is the third Proleague broadcasted by OnGameNet and the first one to be sponsored by SKY. Featuring all Pro Teams of Korea, eleven Teams will play a full round-robin with the top two advancing to the finals to determine the Round 1 Winner. Later on the Round 1 Winner will face off against the Round 2 as well as the Round 3 Winner plus the best team not winning any Round to determine the Grand Champion of the 2004 Sky Proleague. Meanwhile the last place finisher of Round 1 is relegated from Round 2, though it gets the chance to compete for a place in Round 3 against the last place finisher of Round 2.

Prize Pool[edit]

The winner of each Round of the SKY Proleague earns 70,000,000 KRW.

The eleven teams played a round-robin tournament lasting eleven weeks with 44 matches total. Each series was a Best of Three, with the order of games being 2v2 - 1v1 - 1v1. At the end of Round 1, the two teams with the most victories faced each other in a Best of Seven to decide the champion of the round. The champion of the round then advances to the Grand Final.


The two most successful teams by the end of Round 1 were:

  1. Hanbit Stars with a score of 8-2 in series, 18-8 in games.
  2. SKT T1 with a score of 7-3 in series, 14-6 in games.

The finals between these two teams were held on July 17th. Hanbit Stars beat SKT T1 with a score of 4-3.

Plus finished last place with a score of 2-8 in series, 7-17 in games and thus were relegated from Round 2.
