Bae "815" Byung Woo is a StarCraft progamer from South Korea who played Zerg for KTF MagicNs.

Bae Byung Woo played an important role for KT Rolster (then known as KTF MagicNs) in the Shinhan 07 Season Proleague. This was due to his extremely good play on the map Blue Storm, and some fans even called the map '815 Storm' or 'Bae Byung Woo Storm'. He has a 72.73% (8W3L) win rate on that map. He features a macro focused play style. However since then he has not been doing as well and HoeJJa and Luxury began to replace him as KT's staple Zerg players.

815 played consistently in the 08 Proleague, finishing with a solid 6-7 record. He played in season one of the GOM Classic and made it past the first round, defeating Protoss player FanTastic_NamoO 2-1, before getting knocked out by Kwanro 0-2. He played in the GOM Classic Season 2 but was knocked out in the first round by AzAng. Despite this, he had a strong start to the 08-09 Proleague and finished the season with a record of 10 wins and 8 losses. He once again played in the GOM Classic Season 3, defeating Trap and RorO before being defeated 0-2 by Hwasin in the round of 32.

He was played twice in round 1 of the 09-10 Proleague, winning both his games over Jaedong and GoRush ending the round 2-0. In round 2 he was played four times, going 1-3. As of the beginning of Winner's League, he went 3-3 overall. He was rarely played in rounds 1 and 2 due to strong play from fellow KT Zergs Luxury and HoeJJa.

He retired in October 2010.[1]

  • Despite having a heavily macro focused play style, 815's best match-up statistically is Zerg vs Zerg, a heavily micro oriented match-up.
  • Since his debut in March 2006, 815 has never qualified for an MSL or OSL.
  • It is likely that he got his id from the map 815.
