The ASUS Summer 2009 tournament was hosted in Moscow on 29th August 2009 in between 10:00 and 23:00 MSK. The offline event featured different gaming titles such as various CounterStrike tournaments, Pro Evolution Soccer, Warcraft III, FIFA 2009 and StarCraft Brood War. For the Brood War tournament 34 players signed up, among them some of Russia's elite class like Advokate, Pomi or NotForU. The entire event had a prize pool of 800.000 Rubels, the StarCraft tournament a prize pool of around 50.000 Rubels.
The participants first had to undergo a Round Robin Group Phase using a Best of Three format, from which the the best two players advanced into a 16 Man Single Elimination Grid.
