Valentin "Ace" Váczi is a Zerg player from Hungary who currently plays for the team insanity without Limits.

Overview[edit]

Ace started to appear in bigger tournaments in 2006. He finished second in the WCG Hungary qualifiers and made himself a name in various of the BW4Ever Tournaments. The Zerg was able to win the seventh cup of the sixth season over dOTY and thus qualified for the overall season finals. As a rather unknown player in the international scene, he surprised the audience by finishing second, losing twice to the Polish Protoss MistrZZZ in the winner bracket and overall finale.

In the following two years Ace won the WCG Hungary twice, but could only qualify for the WCG 2008 after joining the Templars of Twilight in June. In the main event he was placed in an all-Zerg group with CastrO, Midian, DIMAGA and Jogy. Since he only lost a game to the Ukranian Zerg, Váczi advanted to the Round of 16, where he lost to the Chinese Progamer Legend 0-2.

In between 2008 and 2010 Ace couldn't finish high in a prestigious or big tournament and was overtowered by the Templar's impressing line-up. After the StarCraft II Beta, the Hungarian kept on playing Brood War and joined Team Noobs, afer his old clan disbanded. In 2011 the Zerg finished high in most of the biggest foreign tournaments and won silver in both ISL 1 and ISL 2, as well as one gold in Defiler Tour 17. However, although being arguably better than most international players, the Hungarian couldn't keep up with the dominant trio Sziky, Scan and Heme.

In 2011 Ace joined different teams: sas, UED Gaming, SiR and insanity without Limits. He lost in the bigger tournaments in 2012 due to performing bad compared to his past showings, but played actively in the Altitude Nation Wars and Gambit Cup.

Trivia[edit]

  • During the ISL2 Ace was nicknamed the Control Zerg for his dominating style. This nickname was also used in the hype video for the finals.
