Starcraft Alchemy League
The Alchemy League was hosted in late Summer 2014 by the clan Alchemists. The open tournament featured a prize pool of $200 and was hosted on ICCup.
The prize pool was sponsored by donators. The collected money was distributed following a fixed scheme:
- First place: 60% of Dontations
- Second Place: 25% of Donations
- Third Place: 15% of Donations
The league featured three stages. The first was a ladder stage that was hosted on the pirate server ICCup from the 17th of September to the 19th of October. Sign-ups were open to everyone. Several rules forbade the use of smurfs and limited the amount the most popular map Fighting Spirit could be played. The best 32 players after the ladder phase qualified for the next stage.
The second stage, the group phase, began on October 26th, 2014. The best 32 players from the ladder stage were seeded into one out of eight groups. Each group featured four players who played best of three series against one another. The players who finished first and second qualified for the eventual knock-out stage.
The third stage, the knock-out stage, used a sixteen man single-elimination bracket. The matches used a best of three system, with the finals being a best of five.
