BW4Ever Tournaments

The Brood War 4 Ever Kerrigan Tournament Series (BW4Ever) was hosted by Broodwar.de from March 2004 to March 2007. It featured many of the best foreign players, including Mondragon, Draco and SEn. The series was infamous for its intense games and repeated clashes between high skilled players.

General Information

BW4ever started out as side project of Broodwar.de, which mainly hosted news for the German community. Besides the BWCL the page was most known for this tournament series. Head Admins of the tour were General_Mengsk, Avenger and Asel.

Originally each season of BW4Ever featured between eight and eleven tournaments. Any player that registered at the tournament platform could participate. After each series an artificially generated ELO rank for the players was calculated, depending on their finishes in the previous tournaments. The rating then was used to determinte the seeds for the upcoming editions. In the latest seasons the Top 16 was invited to join a season finale tournament.

In March 2007 the popular series ended. The outdated system later was replaced by Broodwar.de's parent company, inGame.de, and renamed to inCup.de. Theoretically new seasons could have been organized but failed due to the lack of man power and sponsors. It was only used for the King of King tournaments of BWCL and minor community tournaments without prizes. The last major event was the inSC.de Anniversary Cup in October 2008.
