General Information[edit]

The Blizzard World Wide Invitational was hosted by Blizzard Entertainment in June 2008 in Paris, France. For this event four of the best foreign players were invited and joined by four Korean professional players.

The WWI did not only feature invite tournaments for Brood War, Warcraft III and World of Warcraft but also informed Blizzard fans about upcoming projects. Before the convention started many players and fans highly discussed the possibility of a Diablo III announce as a secret project was to be revealed, along with the announce of StarCraft II's and Wrath of the Lich King's release date. The main attraction for the visitors were tournaments in StarCraft II, Goody Bags and the option to test out the Beta versions of upcoming games.
