Idea of CPL[edit]
The objective of the CPL has always been to help new and lower-ranked players improve under the guidance of higher-ranked mentors. CPL offers a friendly environment where new and lower-skilled players can experience competitive team-based Broodwar.
Initially all players were in same tier. In later seasons of CPL, players were separated into tiers, based on their MMR to provide more balanced games.
