Cooldown

In Starcraft, the game is based on frames. Depending on the game settings, the rate of passage of frames per second is different. At Normal game speed frames pass at 15 frames per second. At Fastest, used for competitive and most games today, frames pass at 24 frames per second. Articles here list the number of frames that pass to more accurately describe game speed.

Among the quirks of the engine is that cooldowns may fall imprecisely and are approximated, giving a small degree of unpredictability to speed calculations.

Spells may have a cooldown (see Game Speed) and may have a delay and may be a projectile.
