The ESL Major Series (EMS) is a recurring tournament that has been held five times so far. It involves qualifiers, a group stage, and an elimination playoffs. StarCraft has only been part for three seasons, season 3 to 5. In season 3 and 4, a double-elimination system was played, the player coming from the lower bracket would have to win two Bo5 series in the finals.
