Face To Face

General Information

Face to Face was a showmatch series organized by a Spanish community page from 2004 to 2005. It was covered on almost every major foreign page, such as GGnet, TLnet and BW.de. In theory, the event should have run like a "King of the Hill" with the reigning champion advancing and new challengers appearing for each round. The system had to be altered because of organizational issues due to the frequency of the matches, thus the event changed into an irregular show-match series with a ranking system. Although the series offered no prizes, the prestige and opportunity to present one's skill was enough to lure a lot of high-ranked foreigners into participating. Each match was a Best of Five in which all five games were played, even if the winner was already decided.
