Overview
[edit]In 2005, the Global Gaming League (GGL) announced an individual tournament with a prize pool of $4,000. The event was semi-invitational, meaning that any player could write an application to the GGL. From these applications, the best were selected in order to ensure quality games. The invitees were place into 4 groups of 8 players each. Players in group faced each other in a round robin best of 3 format. The top four in each group advanced into a double-elimination bracket.
