The German King of the Hill was organized by Cele in cooperation with broodwar.de in February 2014.
Originally, the idea was born in the German Brood War Skype Group, in which only German speaking players communicated. The German Protoss ReY ironically proclaimed for himself the title of "King of Germany" after beating a random member of the group. However, Cryoc announced jokingly he'd take up the challenge[1].
The first match was turned into a monthly event after February. Any German speaking player was allowed to challenge the reigning king to a best of five. As ultimate goal, the less known German players should not only be motivated to play more, but introduced to the international scale.
Map Pool[edit]
The starting map was chosen by the reigning champion, afterwards the rule "loser pick" was in place. No map was allowed twice.
