Kaal's International StarLeague (ISL2)
Overview[edit]
On June 22nd 2011, the return of ISL was announced, ISL2[1]. This time with a new main sponsor (KaalVeiten), bringing the total prize pool up to $1500.
A conflict between LRM)Game and ICCup happened shortly before the ladder stage was going to start. Because of this, ICCup would not allow LRM)Game to host anymore tournaments on their server. For this conflict to be resolved, LRM)Game (who ran the first ISL) had to give up his part in the tournament for the ICCup admins to allow the tournament ladder stage being playing on ICCup. LRM)Game withdrew from his position, and LRM)nOoNe took over as the main organizer of the tournament. After the ladder stages ended and the tournament moved to Fish server, LRM)Game came out of hiding and took command of the tournament while LRM)nOoNe dropped out of it.
Format[edit]
- 31 days to qualify in ladder. (June 30 - July 31)
- Top 108 players qualify and top 12 of those automatically qualify for the Round of 64
- In addition, 4 invited players will be added at the Round of 64 (qualifying them automatically)
- Round of 96 in MSL style group stages (making it 24 groups) - Start August 6th - End August 27th
- The 24 groups are played over 4 weeks (6 groups per week), from which 48 players advance
- Round of 64 - 6 weeks, single-elimination: 48 Players from Ro96 + 12 Players top ladder + 4 invites

- Ladder Qualification: June 30th, 2011 - July 31st, 2011
- Group stages: August 6th, 2011 - August 27th, 2011 (at 19:00 CET)
- Group 1-6: August 6th, 2011
- Group 7-12: August 13th, 2011
- Group 13-18: August 20th, 2011
- Group 19-24: August 27th, 2011
- Round of 64: September 3rd 19CET
- Round of 32: September 10th 19CET
- Round of 16: September 17th 19CET
- Round of 8: September 24th 19CET
- Semifinals: October 1st 19CET
- Finals/Showmatch: October 8th 19CET
