Jaedong/Notable Games

From Liquipedia StarCraft Brood War Wiki

ZvT[edit]

By the way this is firebathero's natural not Jaedong's.
  • vs. Terran Flash on Tau Cross, WCG2010 Grand Final, Semi-Final Match A 2nd set  — unbelievable comeback after a 80 : 160 supply deficit late in the game. Outstanding Defiler usage.
  • vs. Terran Midas on Odd-Eye 2, Hana Daetoo Securities MSL, Quarter-Final Match D 1st set [1/3 Eng. Com.] [2/3] [3/3] — outstanding tech switches.
  • vs. Terran Canata on Fighting Spirit, Shinhan Bank Proleague 09–10, Ro2 Week 1 Day 1 3rd set  — relatively short but action packed ZvT, GOTW on TL.
  • vs. Terran Flash on Rush Hour 3, Shinhan Bank Winners League 08–09 Play-Off, 3rd–2nd Place Match 4th set  — perhaps this is the best Jaedong’s game in 2009.
  • vs. Terran firebathero on Destination, Lost Saga MSL, Ro32 Group F Losers  — after a humiliating loss involving Battlecruisers in their previous encounter on Neo Harmony, Jaedong meets Firebathero in the MSL to settle the score.
  • vs. Terran FanTaSy on Sin Chupung-Ryeong, Shinhan Bank Proleague 08–09, Ro2 Week 4 Day 3 4th set  — outstanding control with Queen usage.
  • vs. Terran Mind on Zodiac, GOMTV MSL Season 4, Semi-Final Match B 4th set  — a long and tense back and forth game with huge amounts of drops.
  • vs. Terran Flash on Loki II, GOMTV MSL Season 4, Quarter-Final Match C 3rd set  — exсellent late game management and multitasking.
  • vs. Terran iloveoov on Arcadia 2, 9th MBC Movies Survivor, Group A Winners  — perhaps this is the best Jaedong’s game in 2006.

ZvZ[edit]

  • vs. Zerg Calm on Fighting Spirit, Hana Daetoo Securities MSL, Semi-Final Match B 4th set  — CHOGO-LINGU play by Jaedong.
  • vs.  YellOw[ArnC] on Neo Medusa, Shinhan Bank Proleague 08–09, Ro4 Week 1 Day 1 2nd set  — Jaedong comes back from a severe build order disadvantage and manages to fight speedlings with slowlings to prove his exceptional ZvZ.
  • vs. Zerg Zero on Sin Chupung-Ryeong, Shinhan Bank Winners League 08–09, Week 2 Day 4 2nd set  — anyone who says ZvZ depends on luck over skill should watch this game.
  • vs. Zerg OversKy on Andromeda, Shinhan Bank Proleague 2008, Day 20 2nd set  — excellent Drone, Zergling, and Scourge management through a comeback from build order disadvantage.
  • vs. Zerg OversKy on Un’Goro Crater, Shinhan Bank Proleague 2007 Ro2, Day 52 4th set  — a brilliant strategy play by Jaedong.
  • vs. Zerg Clon on Shin Peaks of Baekdu, Shinhan Bank Proleague 2007 Ro1, Day 63 5th set  — Jaedong comes back from a game disadvantage (because of the map bug) and wins through the excellent Zergling management.
  • vs. Zerg Neo.G_Soulkey on Neo Electric Circuit, 2012 SK Planet Proleague R3 Week 4 — When a huge mutalisk battle occurs with Jaedong greatly outnumbered and out-upgraded, he creatively uses overlords, drones and buildings to minimize the cushion. It makes a difference bigger than one would expect and allows for a huge comeback.

ZvP[edit]

  • vs. Protoss Stork on Tau Cross, WCG 2009 Chengdu GF, Final 1st set  — non-stop action on highest level of StarCraft game.
  • vs. Protoss Bisu on Destination Shinhan Bank Proleague 08–09, Ro2 Week 4 Day 3 5th set  — perhaps this is the best Jaedong’s game in 2008.
  • vs. Protoss LuCifer on Colosseum, Arena MSL, Ro16 Match B 2nd set  — top-notch counter-play to 2 Proxy Gates.
  • vs. Protoss Bisu on Blue Storm, GOMTV MSL Season 4, Ro32 Group B 1st set  — Jaedong was known mainly for his imbalanced ZvT and untouchable ZvZ, until this pivotal game. Highly recommended.
  • vs. Protoss Stork on Fantasy II, EVER Starleague 2007, Final 2nd set  — after excellent Muta-Scourge attack and SimCity defence in 2nd set on Katrina , Jaedong showed the full power of the Zerg in the next game. Perhaps this is the best Jaedong’s game in 2007.
  • vs. Protoss Flying on Outlier, SK Planet Proleague 11–12, Round 2 5th set — Jaedong unintentionally blocks off his ramp with 3 drones for 8 minutes, trapping a significant army supply in his main. See for yourself.
